The
Steamer “BOLIVIA” (1) was built in 1849 by Robert Napier at
Govan, Glasgow with a tonnage of 773 grt, a length of 197ft
6in, a beam of 26ft and a service speed of 8 knots. Similar
to the Chile she commenced her maiden voyage under command
of Capt. Brown on 23rd October 1849 from Liverpool to Valparaíso
vía Madeira and Río de Janeiro. On arrival she
was deployed on the Valparaíso - Antofagasta - Callao
service. She was reduced to a coal hulk at Valparaíso
in 1870 and nine years later was towed out to sea and scuttled. |
El
Vapor “BOLIVIA” (1) fue construido en 1849 por Robert Napier
en Govan, Glasgow con un tonelaje de 773 ton.m., eslora de
60.2 ml , manga de 7.9 ml y una velocidad de servicio de 8
nudos. Similar al vapor “Chile” comenzó su viaje inaugural
bajo el mando del capitán Brown el 23 de Octubre de
1849 desde Liverpool a Valparaíso vía Madeira
y Río de Janeiro. Luego de arribar a Valparaíso
fue puesto a cubrir la ruta Valparaíso - Antofagasta - Callao. Convertido a gabarra para carbón en Valparaíso
en el año 1870 y nueve años más tarde
remolcado y echado a pique en el mar. |
